Launch of the guide – Challenging an IVAC decision before the Tribunal administratif du Québec

The Association québécoise Plaidoyer-Victimes (AQPV) is very proud to launch its new guide in the Rights and recourses for victims of crime series, “Contester une décision de l’IVAC devant le Tribunal administratif du Québec (TAQ)”.

Free of charge, it is intended for all victims who contest a decision of the Indemnisation des victimes d’actes criminels (IVAC) before the TAQ, especially those who are not represented by a lawyer. It’s also a valuable tool for those who provide support to victims of crime and their loved ones.

It’s important to remember that embarking on such a process can be complex and stressful for victims, who need to be informed and aware of the various resources available to help them. One of the objectives of this project, which was very close to our hearts, was to ensure that this document would answer the many questions victims have, enabling them to play a more active role in the proceedings, to better understand what lies ahead, and thus to be in a position to make informed decisions, while at the same time promoting the exercise of their rights and remedies.
