From fiction to criminology: understanding the role of criminologists in helping victims of crime.
To mark the first-ever Quebec Criminology Week, March 15-21, 2026, Plaidoyer Victimes is proud to announce the launch of its first podcast, La parole est à vous, hosted by Karine Mac Donald, with guests Catherine Bérubé, actress, and Julie Hivon, creator of the Alertes* series.
This first episode is inspired by meetings that took place a few years ago between Julie Hivon and criminologists Karine Mac Donald, now Executive Director of Plaidoyer Victimes, and Marie-Christine Michaud, in charge of communications and mobilization, when they were working at the CAVAC network. These exchanges, which were later joined by actress Catherine Bérubé, helped shape the creation of Penelope’s character in this series.
