Taking time off work to testify in court
- When you receive a “subpoena” to appear as a witness in court, you have the right to take time off work to testify. The Act prohibits your employer from suspending or removing you, discriminating or retaliating against you, or imposing any other penalty for this reason. However, your employer is under no obligation to pay your salary during your absence.
