The Loi visant à aider les personnes victimes d’infractions criminelles et à favoriser leur rétablissement (LAPVIC) came into force on October 13, 2021.
As of this date, victims of a criminal offence and their next of kin will benefit from the provisions of the new system.

Please note that victims and their loved ones who suffered a criminal offence BEFORE October 13, 2021 will continue to benefit from the provisions of the Crime Victims Compensation Act adopted in 1972.
