What to do?
If your complaint concerns services rendered by a health and social services establishment (such as a hospital or CLSC), first contact the Complaints Assistance and Support Centre (CAAP) in your region. The CAAP is an independent organization that can assist you with your complaint. Services are free and confidential.
Contact the service quality and complaints commissioner at your local Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) or Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS). Within 45 days of receiving your complaint, a medical examiner will inform you of his or her conclusions, the solutions envisaged and the corrective measures requested.
What to do if you are not satisfied with the examiner’s answer?
Contact the establishment’s Review Committee. The Committee will review and respond to your complaint within 60 business days of receiving it.
If your complaint concerns any member of a professional order in Quebec, you should also consult the section above to find out what other recourse is available to you.
