The Quebec Ministry of Justice has set up CAVACs in all regions of Quebec and in Nunavik to provide front-line assistance to victims of crime. CAVACs offer the following services Information on rights and remedies; Information on legal procedures and the justice system; Accompaniment to court and help with testifying; Assistance with the compensation process and filling out forms such as victim impact statements; Post-traumatic and psychosocial intervention; Referral to specialized legal, medical, social or community services, depending on specific needs.
