To mark the first-ever Quebec Criminology Week, March 15 to 21, 2026, Plaidoyer Victimes is proud to announce the launch of its first podcast, La parole est \u00e0 vous<\/i>, hosted by Karine Mac Donald, with guests Catherine B\u00e9rub\u00e9, actress, and Julie Hivon, creator of the Alertes series. This first episode is inspired by meetings that took place a few years ago between Julie Hivon and criminologists Karine Mac Donald, now Executive Director of Plaidoyer Victimes, and Marie-Christine Michaud, in charge of communications and mobilization, when they were working at the CAVAC network. These exchanges, which were later joined by actress Catherine B\u00e9rub\u00e9, helped shape the creation of Penelope’s character in this series.<\/p>

Journalist St\u00e9phanie Marin sheds light on the victimization of children raised in a totalitarian cult, through the poignant testimony of Josh Seanosky, a cult survivor and guest panelist at our November 12 symposium on emerging and lesser-known victimizations, who recalls the grip of social isolation and the extremely rigorous preparation of children before any encounter with the DPJ.<\/p>

November 24, 2025, QUB<\/strong>, Richard Martineau and Sectes & DPJ: “Today, I’m no longer a victim, that’s what guides my life”.<\/a> Josh Seanosky, a survivor of a sectarian environment where he lived from the age of eight to twenty-one, returns to the reality of hyper-preparing children in this context. He also emphasizes the issues raised by those working in this field, as a panelist at the Plaidoyer Victimes symposium on emerging and lesser-known victimizations, whom he wishes to raise awareness of the approaches to adopt when visiting these environments. <\/p>

On November 12, Plaidoyer Victimes opened its conference on emerging and lesser-known victimizations with a talk by Maya Alieh on cyber-violence, emerging technologies and their local realities. The journalist, who was one of over 300 people present in person and virtually at the event, gives us one of the most striking examples of the risks associated with geolocation. <\/p>
