Declaration of services to victims of criminal offences under LAPVIC<\/h2>

This Statement of Services arises from an obligation under the Act to assist persons who are victims of criminal offences and to promote their recovery<\/a> (LAPVIC), in force since October 13, 2021.<\/p>

This declaration details the services offered by Plaidoyer Victimes (PV) to victims of criminal offences, as well as the activities that lead it to intervene on their behalf.<\/p>

According to the LAPVIC, “(…) a victim is any natural person who, as a result of the commission of a criminal offence against him or herself or another person, suffers physical or psychological harm or material loss, whether or not the perpetrator of the offence is identified, arrested, prosecuted or convicted.” This declaration also includes the relatives of victims.<\/p>

PV is concerned with the quality of the services it provides to victims who wish to receive information, be directed to resources that can help them, be supported in some of their steps and be heard. It is with this in mind that the present declaration includes a procedure for receiving and examining complaints made by victims who are dissatisfied with the services provided by PV and who consider that their rights under the LAPVIC have been infringed. <\/p>

These rights are set out in sections 3 to 6 of the LAPVIC.<\/p>
